Welcome. I'm Julie Drake and this channel follows the various adventures of my life. Currently living on a narrowboat in the United Kingdom. My interests are painting, drawing and gardening. I've had this channel for many years so you will find videos of my past allotments, poultry keeping, cooking, home brewing, bird watching.
I am also an artist so when in need of some rest or the weather is not good for walking, I like to create paintings. One of my favourite flowers to paint are Dahlias.

I think I’d quite enjoy that. Are the tools easy to grip, as I have arthritis and can’t hold pens or brushes for too long. I can imagine it is quite relaxing. I like your chats with Kala. I used to love your live chats and your wander round your gardens. I know you don’t have a garden now but just sitting outside somewhere surrounded by wildflowers would be lovely. Hi Linda, Thanks for watching. The tools are ok, and regular breaks, in my opinion, are advised. There are more videos to upload, just having issues with Internet speeds. It's a real pain as I am relying on an EE signal and lucky to get 5mb.

Hi Linda, I will share the results soon. The hot weather was passable apart from the hot nights. I avoided going out in the day as I overheat quickly.

Is there any particular benefit grafting onto the fresh shoots -versus- cleft grafting a scion directly into the branch stump end?

Hi Jenny, thanks for the comment. We have been filming but unfortunately twice we were unable to finish videos due to the room being noisy. I intend to upload today's and maybe some other bits this weekend.

Hi you may have said but where do you get the pictures did you draw them ?
Hi Jenny, I created the line work with AI and Photoshop. Then printed onto 300gsm/160lb watercolour paper. Hairspray used to fix print but not always required.

Thanks. Price depends on size and whether it's your boat or a generic narrowboat. I create digitally and can print to A3 size.

Actually, the ones that 'didn't turn out' are really quite unique and attractive. There is something to be said about things that are not all uniform and perfect. I really liked them!

Ive tried resins before but not the UV they look so much better to use,have you tried flashing a flame across the resin to get rid of any air bubbles.
Hi, yes, a flame is what I usually use, but in the last few videos, I forgot to have it at hand.

It’s fascinating to watch Julie. How long does the resin & glitter mix last once mixed? Does it stay usable until under the light? A thought… would it help to keep in camera shot to mark a little cross (x marks the spot) or a square, on your workmat with some removable tape? Stay warm! Xx

Dont forget to wear the respirator when doing the resin, I have pulmonary hypertension so i know how that feels! Take care mate 👍🏼
Does your doctor realize how breathless and tired you get Julie ? Has she/he given you an asthma spray or oxygen for when you can’t breathe properly? You really should have something to help you in emergencies..
No the doctor doesn't know as I am lacking transport to get there.
